St Therese is Madeline's Patron Saint. Today is her feast day. We were able to go to Mass to celebrate her life. St Therese is another special saint for mommy. Several years back, mommy was able to visit Lisieux. I was able to visit the convent in which she stayed. I was also able to visit her childhood home, saw & stood next to her bed, saw the toys with which she played. I stood next to the statue of Mary that smiled at her. I remember walking up to the door of her home & could just feel the home busting at it seams with laughter.
We also toured the Basilica dedicated in her honor. Outside her Basilica, her parents are buried, and we were able to pray at their graves... as well as her sisters too.
A couple of years later she was named a Doctor of the Church. On that day, mommy had just come from a wonderful retreat. I was able to go to the Mass in her honor. The Cathedral was soooo PACKED, we were late, and there was no where to sit. There was even a tent outside with a T.V. for those who could not be in the Cathedral, to participate in the Mass. I kept praying that we would be able to just see Jesus in the Eucharist. Next thing, they opened the vestibule, and we were able to be in the very front to "see" Him.
I have also prayed many novenas for St Therese's intersession. The most memorable being the novena I prayed for your Daddy. I prayed the Lord would let me know for sure that I should marry your Daddy. St. Therese said, ("I will spend my heaven doing good on earth. I will let fall a shower of roses." Roses have been described and experienced as Saint Therese's signature. Countless millions have been touched by her intercession and imitate her "little way."). The day my Novena was to end Caleb and Didi came to my work at the time and brought me a dozen of roses. I just knew they were from Jesus, along with her prayers of intersession.
St Therese is a very special saint, and I'm so thankful the Lord sent her to be an example for you, Madeline. I have also posted a biography of her for all of you who read our blog, and are not aware of her.
