Parades and Pumpkin-Picking

We just love being from a small town. There are so many charms that come from living here. There are two beautiful churches, wonderful festivals, & friendly people. One thing I especially love about Abbeville is how things which seem little in a big city are a big deal here. Vermilion Catholic (the catholic high school) is celebrating their Homecoming this weekend. In lafayette, it would be no big deal, but not here. Several of the local businesses were closed, the town square was blocked off and crowds gathered for a parade to cheer on our Eagles. I just absolutely love this! We have been trying for the past couple of years to go to the parade. It is also an added bonus that Nanny Chelle and our nephews Andre and Hunter are usually in it.

After the parade we went pumpkin-"picking". We decided to let you girls pick them this year.

Madeline even took time out of her busy schedule to give us a photo op.
