A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Often when I go places I wonder what they must have been like years ago. I like to picture places in their heyday. Abbeville is full of history and unique places that provide this sort of entertainment for my imagination.

Lately with the girls being sick and the cold weather we have been a little cooped up in the house. My friend Stacie stopped by one afternoon to visit. She is in photography and had a project to do. The weather had warmed up that afternoon so we decided to take a little road trip. About 10 mins. down the road LITERALLY there is a area named Bancker. This was the location of the first church in Vermilion Parish...long before St Mary Magdalene. The church is no longer there but there is a replica of the Ghrotto in Lourdes dedicated to our Lady.
