This week is Andre's birthday. Emma took it upon herself to make her own gift for Andre. The contents, I am quite positive Andre would not need or want. So why is this significant??? She truly was a witness to me.

Moments like today make us sad, but very Proud to be an American! Today we buried one of our local soldiers, Sgt Patrick Williamson(Army, 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash.).

Many people lined the streets, paying their respect to Sgt. Williamson and his family. We were blessed to be a part of such a solemn, but beautiful witness of sacrifice and bravery.

May Our Sweet Lord hold this family in His Beautiful Arms!

We are so appreciative of all those who have, are, and will fight for this great Nation!

# 3 is On the Way!

As many of you guys know #3 is on the way. We are VERY excited the Lord has blessed us with another beautiful life to celebrate. We went to our first doctor's visit on the 2nd. Sorry the picture is not very clear, but nonetheless this is our Lovebug's/Trifecta(still working on the nickname) first and surely not last photo! For all who just see a bunch of snow like on T.V., if you notice the words halfway on the right side of the photo, the baby is slightly to the left. If your eyes are superduper you will see the pointer that measures the length of the baby. I actually think that the sac looks like a dinosaur, hence the picture of the dinosaur. The most important thing is that our baby's heartbeat was very strong! I am 9 weeks pregnant with a due date of June 7th!

Today we celebrate the feast day of St Therese of Lisieux. She is very special to our family because she is Madeline's patron saint. Today started off very frustrating. I had tried to plan special activities, but found our car had been broken into that morning. It was very discouraging, but it also gave us an opportunity to "be little", and trust in our Lord. Though the day had not started the way we had planned, we still celebrated. We colored St. Therese coloring pages and even had pain perdu (French toast) for supper.

It's hard to believe 4 years has already passed! Not to mention our family has doubled :)! Our two little princesses brighten our life! These four years have provided joy, love, happiness, and faith-building moments. We are so blessed that no matter what life may bring we are able to go through it together with God! We are also so blessed to have such a wonderful family. You each have rejoiced with us during the joyful moments and supportive of us during the faith-building moments.

This has been a quite ironic year. Our beautiful Church has been under much interior renovation. We too, have had a renovating year. There is so much beautiful change occurring within each of us. We had such a day today. The girls and I got a chance to go to Mass. It is amazing how much it can uplift your day! St Clare is Emma's patron saint. To celebrate her feast day we shared some Italian Ices ( a real big hit)! We got a chance to learn more about such a wonderful saint. St Clare please intercede for us.

St. Clare

Clare was a beautiful Italian noblewoman who became the Foundress of an order of nuns now called "Poor Clares." When she heard St. Francis of Assisi preach, her heart burned with a great desire to imitate Francis and to live a poor humble life for Jesus. So one evening, she ran away from home, and in a little chapel outside Assisi, gave herself to God. St. Francis cut off her hair and gave her a rough brown habit to wear, tied with a plain cord around her waist. Her parents tried in every way to make her return home, but Clare would not.

Soon her sister, St. Agnes joined her, as well as other young women who wanted to be brides of Jesus, and live without any money. St. Clare and her sisters wore no shoes, ate no meat, lived in a poor house, and kept silent most of the time. Yet they were very happy, because OurLord was close to them all the time. Once, He saved them from a great danger in answer to St. Clare's prayer. An army of rough soldiers came to attack Assisi and they planned to raid the convent first. Although very sick, St. Clare had herself carried to the wall and rightthere, where the enemies could see it, she had the Blessed Sacrament placed. Then on her knees, she begged God to save the Sisters.

"O Lord, protect these Sisters whom I cannot protect now," she prayed. A voice seemed to answer: "I will keep them always in My care." At the same time a sudden fright struck the attackers and they fled as fast as they could. St. Clare was sick and suffered great pains for many years, but she said that no pain could trouble her. So great was her joy in serving the Lord that she once exclaimed: "They say that we are too poor, but can a heart which possesses the infinite God be truly called poor?" We should remember this miracle of the Blessed Sacrament when in Church. Then we will pray with great Faith to Jesus in the Holy Eucharist: "Save me, O Lord, from every evil - of soul and body." Her feast day is August 11.

This past summer Hunter played for Abbeville Allstars. We are so proud of you, and you played so well! We were very fortunate to be able to go to several of their games....which thoroughly enjoyed Emma! They made 2nd in State and even went to Regionals.

Emma even met some "friends" of whom she looked for at every game and still prays for during our Night Prayer :)!

There is something so special about Baseball. I can see why they call it the Nation's Favorite Pastime. It often brings back memories of my youth sitting in the baseball park with my best friend Cathy watching our brothers play, eating pickles,sunflower seeds, nachos, and yummy Frito pies. I can vividly remember the sounds of chirping crickets, humming from the lights shinning on the field, cheers from the crowds, and shouts of "STTTRRRRRIIIKKKKKEEEE!" from behind the plate. These are just a few of the things that make not only baseball, but summertime so magical.

Tonight the game was electric. The Allstars were behind but came SO close to winning. You could just feel the excitement, pride, and anticipation in the air. Those boys put their whole heart into the game. What a fitting way to end such a great season!

Tonight we thought it would be fun to take the girls to the water fountain....we get there and there is NO room to park. We decide instead to take the girls to Girard Park. They were so excited, and simply had a blast. After working up such a sweat we decided to go by Sonic to get some drinks. While at Sonic, we began to notice the car was smoking (and not as in a... Damn, you look good... sense)! After laughing at such wonderful timing, and the fact that our car looked like a chain smoker we started heading home. Well we got to Ambassador and Kaliste Saloom and all smoke broke loose! We called Maw Maw to ask Uncle Kenneth what we should do. She immediately came to meet us and take the girls and I home, thank you! We were also so blessed Uncle Kenneth took a look at our car to help us find what was wrong. Thank you so very much!!! We found out that it was just a pin-sized hole in the power steering hose. So even though things did not happen as we expected, the Lord blessed us.

It's always nice to take country roads every now and then. there are so many jewels, funny treasure, or a chance to laugh along the way. These are just a few sights on our way back home from Marksville! I am often reminded of the movie Cars. I think of all the Radiator Springs around the world. Interstates are such a blessing, but they often overshadow wonderful little town with so much charm.

Chalet Take Me Away!

Thank you Didi for such a great weekend. We started off with a delicious picnic. We then went to the casino to check out the live alligators floating in man made bayou in the atrium (of the Paragon Casino). We then found our chalet, and got acquainted. Unfortunately daddy got sick and was not able to fully enjoy the weekend. Even with daddy being sick, it was still a great family weekend. It had been a while since you girls had seen your cousins, and it was a good chance to catch up. We even got a chance to go to Mass as a family. St Joseph's Catholic Church was so beautiful and welcoming! Sunday afternoon we even got a chance to "wet our whistles" with yummy drinks and ice cream from Sonic. Nanny and Emma even went Poppie penny hunting. I think you two found over 19 pennies. Wow!

Dr's Visit

Full bills of health for the girls. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful pediatrician. The girls love to go. They get a kick out of Dr. Melancon checking their ears for kitty cats or puppy dogs.....and of course...the sucker on the way out doesn't hurt either! It is so much fun coming home after their visits because we get our ears "checked" for kitty cats and puppy dogs too! I know the Lord put her in our lives for a reason!

O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children. The Sea of Galilee obeyed your order and returned to its former quietude; you are still the Master of land and sea. We live in the shadow of a danger over which we have no control. The Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy, overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land and spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season, we turn to You, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with the passing of time. Joyful Surprise

We were kinda bummed we could not make it to Houston for Bryan & Jonna's wedding. We ended up staying home and BBQ'd. To our surprise Michelle and Shannon invited us over to play. Uncle Shannon had a family day for his job at their house. Once everyone had left we had a fun time in a FunJump, big slide, and yummy crawfish!!! Thank you guys for your generosity we had a blast!

Tonight we went to have supper at Maw Maw's. It was so great to catch up with everyone. You girls had so much fun playing with your cousins. Thank you Andre for making tents for the girls. After playing outside it was time for a delicious supper. Though we had a great time, it wasn't the same without Daddy and Paw Paw.

A Glorious Day

Today was an absolutely GORGEOUS day. We were going to pack in as much stuff as possible....

The day started with a brisk walk around A.A. Comeaux Park. We then came back home and painted., and even made or way in the backyard to the swing set. Afterwards we got apple juice slushes and went play at Magdalen Square.

Things were slow on the job in Lafayette, so unfortunately this meant Daddy and Paw Paw had to work the week in Mississippi. Though we were sad, we tried to keep as busy as possible to make the week fly by. I'm sure Daddy and Paw Paw got some good quiet bonding time. Being daddy was gone, it gave us a chance to learn some geography.

Emma--" Mommy, where's Daddy?"

Mommy--"Emma, Daddy's at work."

Emma--"With Paw Paw?"

Our "little garden" produced it's first fruits. We had one red, juicy, delicious tomato. We also have a Bertha bell pepper ripe for the picking. You girls get so excited to see new buds and enjoy watering the plants daily!!

It's amazing how much your life changes when you become a parent...you stress more, sleep less, know almost all the theme songs to your children's favorite songs.....and you rejoice in potty success! Today Madeline peed on the potty for the first time. OK, it was probably just a fluke, but I will rejoice anyway! Way to go Maddie we are so proud of you!!

Can't Resist Crabbing

We just couldn't stay away too long. We had such a fun time crabbing a couple of weekends ago we couldn't resist. Thank you MawMaw and PawPaw for letting the girls come play so we could FULLY get into catching our crabs. You girls got to go swimming in Nanny Chelle & Uncle Shannon's pool & had so much fun.
